Spacey-Man is a score-chasing arcade game. Your goal is simple: survive, destroy hazards, collect coins, and chain
power-ups into long runs. The game is intentionally quick to start, but there is real depth once you learn how the
score systems and negative effects work together.
Core Objective
Stay alive as long as possible while building score from multiple sources: time alive, destroyed hazards, coins,
and bonus points awarded for surviving negative power-up windows. The highest total score wins.
Controls
- Desktop thrust: Up Arrow (or tap controls on touch devices).
- Pause or resume: Space bar, Up Arrow, or on-screen Resume button.
- Fire: F key (or Fire button on supported touch flow).
- Quit prompt: press Q, then confirm with Q, Enter, or the Quit button.
Typical Run Flow
- Start screen: pick your mode and begin the run.
- Live run: dodge hazards, take calculated risks, and collect useful power-ups.
- Pause/shop moments: evaluate the board state, spend coins carefully, then resume.
- Mission Debrief: review score breakdown, power-up details, and leaderboard position.
Simple Survival Rules
- Protect your movement lane first. Fancy plays are secondary to staying alive.
- Use temporary power spikes to clear pressure, not just to chase flashy moments.
- Negative effects can be worth it if you can control the screen and survive the timer.
- Do not spend all coins too early. Keep a buffer for clutch moments and recovery.
Emergency Revive
If a fatal hit lands and you have enough coins, the game can auto-spend coins to keep your run alive. Treat this as
a safety net, not a strategy. Runs usually go further when coin spending is disciplined.
Beginner Progression Plan
- Phase 1: focus only on clean movement and hazard reads.
- Phase 2: add coin routing and basic power-up awareness.
- Phase 3: learn which negative effects you can reliably outplay.
- Phase 4: optimize score timing using the Scoring Guide.
